AI Prompts & Checklists
A few well-structured prompts can produce more useful work than a long list of vague commands. Start with context, task, constraints and desired output.
A simple prompt structure
Context: What business, customer or situation is this about?
Task: What exactly should the AI do?
Constraints: What must it avoid, preserve or assume?
Output: What format do you want?
Starter prompts
Research: “Summarize the information below into facts, assumptions, unanswered questions and items that need independent verification.”
Lead qualification: “Turn these enquiry details into a concise lead summary, missing-information checklist and recommended next step. Do not invent facts.”
Workflow improvement: “Map this repetitive process into trigger, steps, decisions, tools, handoffs and final outcome. Identify which steps are suitable for automation and which need human approval.”
Content: “Rewrite this explanation for a busy business owner. Keep it accurate, remove jargon and end with one practical next action.”
Before you rely on an AI result
- Check names, dates, numbers and source material.
- Separate known facts from assumptions.
- Do not paste confidential data into tools without understanding their data practices.
- Keep human approval for financial, legal, medical, compliance or high-impact decisions.
- Save good prompts and improve them based on real outcomes.
